Kate McMahon

Kate has thirty years experience in the field of Medical Negligence*. She has a wealth of experience as an advisor to the medical defence industry and has been involved in landmark, precedent cases in both the High Court and Supreme Court on a variety of issues to include unconscionable delay in decades old Cerebral Palsy cases, fixed apportionment and liability and causation arguments.

Kate also has vast experience in co-ordinating tactics on cases and has unrivalled knowledge in the field of Personal Injury*. Her expertise is shared by way of lecturing to students and colleagues of the Law Society on issues pertaining to Medical Negligence* and Personal Injury* within the Civil Litigation Diploma Course. Kate has also lectured to the Irish Nurses Organisation and the Mater School of Nursing. She was a legal advisor to the Peer Review Group of the Irish College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and was a member of the interview panel for the procurement of legal services for the Mid-Western Health Board.

Janet Keane

Janet is an Associate Solicitor in the firm and has acquired considerable experience in the fields of Personal Injury Litigation*, Medical Malpractice* and Employment Law.

Janet leads on the majority of our Employment Law cases. In the area of Medical Negligence* she has advised major defence insurance companies in landmark cases and has successfully defended clients and achieved high value results such as striking out claims on grounds of failure to prosecute or unconscionable delay.

Janet has also led clients to successful conclusions in Personal Injury cases in turn achieving substantial settlements on their behalf. Her expertise has allowed her to deal effectively with urgent cases where the client's injuries are critical in nature. This would involve applying to court to have cases heard at the foremost opportunity and subsequently running the case under exigent circumstances.

David Andrews

As an Associate Solicitor, David has worked and gained vast experience in Civil Litigation* particularly in the areas of Medical Negligence*, Employment and Personal Injury* Law. Since joining the practice in 2010 David has worked on several high value High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court cases.

He has acted successfully for both Plaintiff's and Defendant's and has achieved successful results in the various foras of Employment Litigation to include the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Equality Tribunal, the Labour Court and the Circuit Court.
